Preparing For Sale
When selling your property, there are a lot of little things that you, the owner, can do to improve the chances of making of a sale in quick time at the best price. Betta Real Estate, Clive Abbott and Chris Ford, hope that you find some or all of these suggestions helpful.
Light
Very important for first impressions. Open curtains and and/or turn on lights if necessary
Pets
Make sure that pets are restrained during inspections, or better still, are off-site
Odours
May relate to pets but could also be due to damp, smoking or cooking. Open the windows well before inspection time
Damage or faults
Don’t give Buyers an opportunity to devalue the property. Fix everything that you can
Wet Areas
Kitchens & bathrooms can really help make a sale. Make sure that they are extra clean and sparkling
Outdoors
Mow the lawn, tidy the garden, get rid of any rubbish. Consider washing or re-painting the house
Outlook
Ensure that views have not become overgrown. Clean the windows and screens
Music
No TV! Put on gentle background music
Storage
Storage is a strong positive for any house. Make sure that cupboards look as big as possible by having a spring clean
Clean Out
Clean, clean, clean! Get rid of unwanted items. Hold a Garage Sale or take unwanted items to the Tip
Inspections and Open Homes
Yes, they do sell houses
Friends & Neighbours
Let them all know that you are selling your property. Get word of mouth working for you!
